The PanCretan Association:The purpose of the PanCretan Association is to promote and develop social, ethnic and cultural relationships and mutuality among all Cretans and their descendants residing in the United States and Canada. The goal of the PAA is to promote and develop education through scholarships and otherwise; to raise voluntary contributions and funds and to distribute such funds to legally recognize philanthropic institutions and educational, charitable, or cultural purposes. Since its inception in 1929, the Pancretan Association of America has always fostered the promotion and development of Crete. Whether in the building of Pancretan Venizelion Hospital at Heraklion, the Hospital in Rethymno, the creation of the Orphans War Relief Fund, the Dowries for War Orphan Girls, the University of Crete Press, the Botanical Gardens at the Polytechnic of Crete, or the Statue Kayiale, the PAA has been there and will always continue its support for the betterment of Crete. In this spirit the PAA has embarked on the creation of the PAA Minoan village at Atsipopoulo Crete. |
