Dear Fellow Cretans and Friends,
The Board of Directors of the PAA Minoan Village wish to you all and your families:
HAPPY, PROSPEROUS, AND PEACEFUL NEW YEAR 2009
We take this opportunity to inform you that after coordinated efforts in America and in Crete, we succeeded in filing the application of the PAA Minoan Cultural Village for a grant by the Government of Greece. We are optimistic that the Greek authorities will review favorably our application and thus entitle us to receive the subsidy which will make the development of the ‘Atsipopoulo Project’ reality. We thank Takis Phoundoulakis and Yannis Psimopoulos for their untiring efforts to complete this application.
Furthermore, we are most thankful to the PAA President Manny Velivasakis as well as the Boards of Directors of the Pancretan Association of America, the Pancretan Endowment Fund (P.E.F.), the Cretan Fraternity of Chicago & Suburbs, and the PAA Minoan Village (PAA-MVI) for their enthusiastic help and support. Also, we extend our gratitude to our members and friends Emmanuel J. Elliott, Mike Koulakis, Ted Manousakis, George Savakis, Stavros N. Semanderes, George Varouh, and Manny Velivasakis who declared their participation in the entity that will develop and operate our “Home” in Crete.
Moreover, we thank our many donors whose contribution is making the pursuance of this project possible as well as the more than 300 members who filled out the expression of interest form for the PAA Minoan Cultural Village.
HRONIA POLLA,
Stavros N. Semanderes
PAA-MVI President
